Frankfurt airport is located approximately 55 kilometres away from the heart of the Bergstrasse. From there, via Frankfurt train station, every town situated alongside the Bergstrasse can by reached.

The Bundesstrasse 3 – federal road leads you directly alongside the Bergstrasse. West of the Bundesstrasse 3 (B 3) the parallel motorways A 5 and A 67 can be found.

Every town situated alongside the Bergstrasse has its own train station. For this reason, all of the towns can be easily reached by train. The cities of Darmstadt, Heidelberg and Mannheim are connected to the ICE-Network. Intercity trains stop also at Bensheim and Weinheim. Busses round up the services offered by the ÖPNV (public transportation company).

Travelling to the Bergstrasse via long distance bike trails:

• from the South direction Baden: via the northern part of the "badische Rheintal-Weg" – Baden Rhine Valley trail
• from the North to the Rhine-Main-Region: via the "Hessische Radfernweg R8" – Hessian long distance bike trail R8
• from the West to Worms: via the "Hessische Radfernweg R9" – Hessian long distance bike trail R9 to central Bergstrasse from Bensheim to Heppenheim
• from the East: via the "Mümling-Radweg" – Muemling bicycle trail and the Hessian long distance bike trail R9 to central Bergstrasse. This one is the most challenging trail across the valleys of the Odenwald.

All trains along the Bergstrasse will transport your bicycles. For this reason, an easy return trip to the starting point is always possible.
