The Bergstrasse is easy to reach by almost all means of transport, whether by public transport, car, boat (Neckar, Rhine), bike and hike or airplane. The regional public transport network rmv (northern part) and vrn (southern part) offer you plenty of travel options during yout stay. Bus & Car
Travellers arriving by car or coach take the A5 and A67 motorways to get to the Bergstraße. The Bundesstraße (main road) B 3 runs from north to south along the Bergstraße and links up all the towns along the way. Long-distance coaches operate from Darmstadt, Worms, Mannheim and Heidelberg.
Train
Easy access by rail: All cities and municipalities along the Bergstrasse have a train station. Darmstadt, Heidelberg and Mannheim are connected to the ICE (Intercity Express) network. Intercity trains frequently also stop in Bensheim and Weinheim.
Bike & Hike
The Bergstrasse is well connected to cycle trails and long-distance walking trails. Cyclists can take the Rheintal-Weg (Rhine Plain Route) and the Hessische Fernradwege (Hessian long-distance cycle trails) R8 and R9. Hikers can get to the Bergstraße along the E1 and E8 trails.
Airplan
There are airports both in the Rhine-Main and Rhine-Neckar metropolitan regions. The regional airports of Karlsruhe and Mannheim, as well as Frankfurt and Baden, offer chartered and scheduled flights.
